continued on next page Spotlight on Amaros Mark Packer, MD, spoke about Amaros, which he said is transforming the future of ophthalmology with precision intelligence. It unifies fragmented clinical and research data into dynamic, real-time insights that power personalized care, smarter trials, and better access without disrupting existing workflows. Amaros unifies real-world data into actionable intelli- gence with EvidenceEngine, the AI platform that offers data harmonization, AI/ML algorithms, workflow automation, and privacy-preserving security, Dr. Packer said. It also provides solutions in the clinic and daily practice for clinical research and in commerce looking at the business aspect. Dr. Packer showed a video of how the platform works. He began by typing in a question about practice growth opportunities through your own patient records, such as patients who have cataracts but haven't been in lately and might be surgical candidates. He showed how it works using clinical research and how AI assistance can help determine if patients could be in a study. Everything has inclusion and exclusion criteria. There are specific protocols, and it becomes very detailed and cumbersome work. Using AI can help speed up enroll- ment and save costs, he said. Lastly, Dr. Packer showed the economic benefits of this technology, which can look at revenue from cataract surgery and show how much money was made. Spotlight on AVTR Med Dr. Armstrong presented on AVTR Med, which can take on logistical administrative tasks that you have to tackle every day. These could include things like scheduling and resched- uling, insurance verification, patient follow-up, and staff education, he said. He shared a demo from the automated assistant. It has a management team and technology partner, and it's purely focused on eyecare. "It's your admin assistant for many things," Dr. Armstrong said, adding that it can perform more advanced tasks like calling an insurance company for prior authorization. It can answer patient questions, confirm your clinical schedule, work with an insurance company to ensure your patient is covered for a necessary procedure, and more. One thing that's fascinating, he noted, is it could call many patients simultaneously. "It's transforming what's possible," he said. Spotlight on Zeiss Mitchell Weikert, MD, shared information on artificial in- telligence initiatives from Zeiss. He noted initiatives in IOL power calculations, surgical video analysis, and preoperative macular OCT analysis. Looking at IOL power calculation, Dr. Weikert said we're hitting about 74% ±0.5 D of target; with meticulous atten- tion, we can get that up to 92%. About the physicians Grayson W.
