This discussion will include lessons learned, current needs and future opportunities. 1:30–3:00 p.m. Cataract Surgery & All the Subspecialties Moderators: Zaina Al-Mohtaseb, MD, Marjan Farid, MD, and Cathleen McCabe, MD Co-existing ocular disease can pose unique challenges to cataract surgery. In this symposium, we discuss cataract surgery in patients with oculoplastic disease (such as lid abnormalities), retinal disease (such as age-related macular degeneration or diabetic macular edema), glaucoma (previous filtering surgery), neuro-ophthalmic disease (such as prior AION or diplopia), and corneal disease (Fuchs or previous corneal grafts). Each case will be followed by YES Clinical Committee members' complicated case videos, showing how they worked through similar complications. 8:00–9:30 a.m. Optimizing Refractive Outcomes in the Glaucoma Patient: A Combined RSCC and GCC Symposium Sponsored by the ASCRS Refractive Surgery and Glaucoma Clinical Committees Moderators: Preeya Gupta, MD, and Nathan Radcliffe, MD This symposium is a joint venture between the Refractive Surgery and Glaucoma Clinical Committees. Attendees will learn about refractive management in patients with glaucoma including preoperative assessments, intraoperative strategies, and postoperative refractive considerations in patients with glaucoma.
