14 | 2023 ASCRS ANNUAL MEETING PREVIEW PROGRAM ASCRS PROGRAM YOUNG EYE SURGEONS (YES) SKILLS BS FRIDAY, MAY 5 Phaco Lab Review basic and advanced phaco practices and procedures including phaco settings and fluidics, incisions, capsulorhexis, phacoemulsification, nuclear disassembly (using chopping and divide and conquer techniques), cortex removal, anterior vitrectomy, and post-cataract wound corneal suturing. *YES-STL1: 9:00–10:00 a.m. *YES-STL2: 10:30–11:30 a.m. *YES-STL3: 1:00–2:00 p.m. *YES-STL4: 2:30–3:30 p.m. Anterior Segment Surgery Lab Explore various glaucoma procedures including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, Yamane technique, nuclear disassembly, pupil expansion, and CTR insertion. *YES-STL5: 9:00–10:00 a.m. *YES-STL6: 10:30–11:30 a.m. *YES-STL7: 1:00–2:00 p.m. *YES-STL8: 2:30–3:30 p.m. DMEK/DSAEK Lab DMEK: Participants will be able to practice the DMEK technique for implantation and positioning of the donor cornea tissue using an artificial anterior chamber and pre-loaded corneal tissue. DSAEK: Participants will be able to practice tissue insertion for DSAEK and positioning of the donor tissue. *YES-STL9: 9:00–11:00 a.m. *YES-STL10: 1:30–3:30 p.m. DALK Lab Participants will be able to learn and practice the DALK surgical technique, including graft preparation and implantation. Detailed instruction, including videos with experienced instructors, will guide participants in learning basic DALK techniques, including big bubble and manual dissection. *YES-STL11: 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. *Registration fee applies.
